Faraway Places

Tell me stories of faraway places Of differing lives and smiling faces Where sunshine is assured and almost demanded Where compromise is not a thing from anyone’s expected Where lions roam easily amongst men Where threats are just those of unbearable pleasures Where the cares of men are simply how to love more How to give more and how to be more O tell me stories of these awesome places Paint me pictures of dreamy spaces Of deep blue skies and wandering traces Where grey sheets of rain compliment rainbow covers Where eagles perch among men discussing higher endeavours Where the old bring the young reasons to live Where fledglings remind old-timers of beauty within That beauty which is never lost but tainted by loss Ways to grasp it and how to hold on to it O show me pictures of these heartfelt places Sing me songs of feat-worthy praises Of strapping heroes and strapling crazes Where the tune of love lives on each person’s breath Where hope rises at the sun’s every step And eclipses with the moon when it settles down to sleep Where trust is woven in intricate patterns On clothing adorning each stoic figure Devoid of self and singular ambitions O hum me songs of these mighty places
