Dangling to Survive.

This girl See this girl sitting there Looking fly with bright talon nails Dangling high on pointy heals Fighting hard to be heard This girl This girl Who drives wild like geese on strike Zoom through traffic, mascara in hand Singing loud, shatt’ring eardrums Battling hard to hold back tears Daily life pushes her way This girl This girl Dragging herself in to work Sometimes late and often stressed Single-handedly she grooms Three kids, a job and damning tunes Even before the clock struck eight Still takes the time to paint her face This girl This girl Who walks into boardroom battle fields Must justify once again her place To dwell there and own her space Unlike others with her degree With same experience and pedigree This girl This girl Fights for fairness, expects no favours The right to operate within her constraints To run with the wolves and eat with giants She has the muscle and the heart To carry much more than what you might This girl This girl Be not fooled by her bright sunny smile She knows her worth and owns her strength Made strong in the tears she often sheds To loosen her joints and unchock her head She dangles high to survive This girl.
