A Prayer for the Issues

I said a prayer for you today That you would rise from your Self-pity and excuses From your odious ways and Do something. Anything! I said a prayer for you today That you would take responsibility For your failures and your laziness Your cowardice and your envy That you would take your strengths And use them to build your story And focus on your journey I said a prayer for you today That you would stop pointing fingers At the insignificant colonisers That wrote your history And you still allow to write your history I said a prayer for you today That you would use your hands To dig for your gold Instead of opening them to heaven Hoping to catch some falling manna That you would grab your destiny by the horns And ride it hard with the focus of a matador And steer it towards your sunset I said a prayer for you today That you would think! About ways to improve your Present circumstance To shape your spawns and Control your demons That you would take time To strategize Before you jump blind into a situation I said a prayer for you today That you would harness your pride And weed your farm of faeces In order to harvest abundant fortunes That you would take your head Out of the sand and people's arses And face your realities I said a prayer for you today That you would invest in your union Time, affection, desire and care So you can harvest the same That you would first seek your missteps Before blaming others For foolish decisions and hasty actions I said a quiet little prayer today.
